About

Hello…

My name is Marvin Sease Jr.

As a lifestyle and wedding photographer rooted in Atlanta, GA—and proudly serving Charleston, SC and the surrounding areas—I believe photography is more than a profession. It is my calling. I’m driven by the magic found in real moments: the breath before a smile, the quiet emotion in someone’s eyes, the beauty of a sky that feels like it was painted just for you. My goal is never just to take pictures, but to witness you—your laughter, your tenderness, your presence—and to honor those moments with images that feel alive. If I can reveal something true, something meaningful, something you’ll want to hold onto forever, then I know I’ve done my job.

I’ve always been a creative at heart. An unapologetic tech geek, I’m fascinated by anything that elevates what’s possible—new tools, new ideas, new ways of seeing the world. If photography hadn’t captured me first, I would have found my home in music. Creating it, breathing it, living it. Music has always been the constant rhythm in my life, playing on loop in my mind 8 days a week—a phrase my father, the late, great blues singer Marvin Sease, made famous. His legacy reminds me daily that creativity is inherited, but purpose is chosen.

And my purpose is this: to bring joy to the people I photograph. To create images that hold the weight of a moment and the warmth of a memory. To celebrate your story with intention and heart. It is my honor—and truly my joy—to help you preserve the moments that matter most.

I credit the year 2013 as the beginning of my professional journey into photography.  However it was this image above that I took in the summer of 2012 that is my absolute favorite.  It was an engagement photo that I took for some friends of mine, and compared to now, when I took this image, I can admit that I really didn’t know what I was doing. lol But the moment I snapped this image, the stars aligned. It was simply the right moment at the right time.  This image proved to me that photography wasn’t just about knowing the technical side of operating the camera.  It’s not even about it being the right time of day. It’s about the relationship of your subject and capturing the right moment. Understanding that once that moment is gone you can’t get it back.  Its about establishing a bond of sorts between the client and myself so that I am in tune with that moment so that I can freeze it..  so that I can capture it..  so that I can Sease The Moment…
